As dog owners and dog lovers ourselves we wouldn’t dream of leaving our 2 dogs (pictured above) at home to go on holiday (in UK) so why should you?!
Our Hengistbury Reach property is dog friendly not just dog tolerant! We welcome 3 well behaved dogs of any size/breed* (if you have more than 3 dogs then do contact us to discuss as we may be able to flex on this for smaller breeds). The garden is fully enclosed with secure side gate access & 6ft fencing. With large Monterey pine trees to one side of the garden this ensures there is always some shade no matter the time of year.
Very importantly the area around Hengistbury Reach is also very dog friendly. Our local beaches are dog friendly all year round as are many pubs, cafes & restaurants (more info provided at property.)
Within a short walk from the front door your four legged friend(s) can be paddling in the river, playing on the beach, swimming in the sea or walking in the countryside.
We make no charge for dogs when you book directly with us through our website ensuring you save a significant amount on dog boarding fees.
We can provide a dog crate (small or large) on request.
On occasion we may be able to offer dog sitting (please enquiry on booking)
We try not to have too many Doggy Rules as we want them to enjoy their holiday at HENGISTBURY REACH just as much as their owners. We also realise that the majority of our guests are very responsible owners – so instead we just have a few Doggy Reminders:
Please clean up after your dog(s) – both inside and out (we provide some poo bags as part of the doggy welcome pack).
Snoozing: If your dog(s) is like ours and likes a snooze on the sofa/bed we ask that you use the throws/covers provided or bring your own.
Home Alone: Please only leave your dog alone in the property if you are very confident they will settle. If you know they can be destructive or reactive when left alone, or they suffer from separation anxiety, please do not leave them unsupervised for any period. It’s just not fair on your dog (or on us if they cause damage!).
Hot tub: For owners use only after those long dog walks from the front door while dogs snooze nearby in the fully enclosed garden. We would ask that you discourage your dog(s) from walking over the hot tub cover if at all possible as these are very expensive to replace).
In the unlikely event of any damage caused by your dog(s) then you will be held responsible and liable to cover any additional costs incurred.
*This includes XL Bully type dogs where owners are adhering to all the legal protocols.
Should you have any dog related questions please contact us.
